Regional Lead Trainer- Oahu HI
She / Her / Hers

I often tell others the one thing I have always known about myself is that I will always have dogs in my life. As a kid I would spend hours reading and watching anything that would teach me just a nugget more about dogs, and that never changed. After I graduated from the University of Houston with a B.A. in Psychology I worked in Student Affairs and Higher Education, during that time I rescued Honey and began to train her on my own. After getting married and moving, Maple came into my life and challenged me to learn more about training. I really fell in love with the process and decided to enroll in the Animal Behavior College where I earned my Dog Trainer Certification.

My goal as a trainer is to create harmony between dogs and their humans, to strengthen their bond, and create clear channels of communication. It is important to not only look at what we can teach a dog, but also what a dog needs from us and how to provide it for them, remembering that dogs are sentient creatures with their own needs and desires. My aim is to create attainable training goals using science based training methods. Because the science of dog training is always evolving and improving, I am constantly in pursuit of more knowledge and striving to improve my skills as a trainer. I believe small steps lead to big behavior changes!

As a Texas native I feel privileged to call Hawai’i my home while my husband is stationed at Schofield Barracks. In my free time I love to be outdoors, hiking and snorkeling are some of my favorite activities! I am learning how to surf and currently taking classes to teach Honey and Maple how to paddle board with me! My husband and I enjoy bouldering and we love to travel. I am also bilingual in english and spanish and can offer in person and online sessions in both languages!
